Thinking Outside the Box; Why Conventional Thinking Might Not Always Be Best For Your Client

Advisors too often adopt the same traditional techniques in developing estate plans.  This session analyzes three popular strategies; (1) disregarded entities (generally considered an income planning concept); (2) estate freezes where the so-called growth interest is transferred; and (3) transfers of real property using partnerships and illustrates how these core planning techniques will most often not achieve the desired results.  By substantially varying these strategies the wealth plan can generally be improved for most clients.  Adding an appropriate life insurance component generally enhances this type of plan.
